"The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong." ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder
Welcome to my little corner of the virtual realm! Here you'll find my recently finished stitching projects and my many, many works in progress, as well as ramblings about recipes, seasonal canning endeavors, book reviews, and life in the country. So please, pour yourself a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and stay a spell....
I'm an obsessive stitcher with a passion for all things primitive and folksy. I also hold a Master's Degree in English Literature (which explains my love for books). When I'm not reading or stitching, I can most likely be found in the kitchen...especially during canning season.
I just finished stitching together this little guy for Halloween and he seems to enjoy just hanging out around the rolling pin rack....mmmm...makes me begin to think of pumpkin pie for some reason! The pattern for this is entitled "Oh, To Be A Witch" and is designed by Sandra of Homespun Elegance. Sandra has designed an entire collection of these adorable folk style Halloween ornaments. You just have to take a peak at her blog, Plain and Fancy Merchant, for her latest designs! Next on my list to stitch is some more autumn towels and candle mats!
